A woman from Kildare has revealed that when she scooped a huge Lotto jackpot she had just €90 in her bank account.

The Cork native, who wishes to keep her win private, bought her winning ticket at the Spar/Esso Service Station in Celbridge, Co. Kildare.

‘I had only €90 in my bank account when I went to do my weekly grocery shopping on Saturday,’ explained the lucky punter.

‘Before I started my shopping, I had my Lotto ticket checked at the desk and the girl behind the counter gave me a cheeky wink and told me to contact the National Lottery about my winning ticket,’ she smiled.

By matching five numbers and the bonus number in Wednesday's Lotto draw, she landed a cash windfall of €400,504.

The full-time carer who is originally from Co. Cork explained how much the win would mean to her family and the people who she cares for.

‘I am still absolutely flabbergasted with my win,' she said. 'I still haven’t got around to telling anybody yet except for one close friend. With Christmas just around the corner, I can give everybody the Christmas that they deserve and not have to worry about the money.’

There was no winner of the Lotto jackpot on Saturday 5 November so this Wednesday the jackpot is an estimated €7 million.
