Multiple people killed in early morning train crash in Germany
Several people have died and up to 100 have been injured after two trains crashed into each other in southern Germany, according to local reports.
Police said one of the trains had derailed and several carriages overturned, and said it had been confirmed there had been some deaths following what was described as a "head-on collision".
The early morning crash took place near Bad Aibling in Bavaria, but it was too early to establish the exact number of unjuries.
A spokeswoman for police in Upper Bavaria said eight rescue helicopters were standing on a lawn near the entrance to the town of Bad Aibling and further rescue staff were on the way to the scene of the crash.
