Met Eireann issues status yellow weather warning
Met Éireann has issued a status yellow rain warning for the Bank Holiday Monday as downpours are expected across the southern half of the country.
A rain warning is currently in place for Cork and Kerry where Met Éireann predicts up to 25 to 40mm of rain.
A status yellow warning is also in place for Kilkenny, Waterford and Wexford who are expected to get up to 30mm of rain.
A Met Éireann forecaster said: “Both warnings have been put in place until tomorrow morning as heavy rainfall is expected.”
Met Éireann said that the heavy rain isn’t forecasted for the rest of the country with generally dryer conditions over the north.
“Elsewhere tomorrow after a dull damp start some brighter or sunny spells will develop with some showers.”
