Met Eireann have issued a Status Yellow rain warning for large parts of the country tomorrow.

Despite it being the last week of June and the very height of summer, instead we will have to dig out the wellies and raincoats.

Counties Carlow, Kilkenny, Wexford, Wicklow, Cork, Kerry, Limerick, Tipperary and Waterford are all expected to be hit with between 25-35mm of rain, with spot flooding expected.

The rain is expected to hit at 3am Tuesday morning and the warning is in effect for 12 hours from that point.

And once that weather passes over us, the rest of the week will remain very changeable, with heavy showers mixed with sunny spells to dominate right up to the weekend.
