Met Eireann issue Orange Weather warning

The Met office has issued a Status Orange weather warning, predicting that dense fog will grip the nation for a time this morning.

Dense fog is expected in many areas which will lead to hazardous driving conditions for those commuting to work or school.

The fog will be slow to clear and may linger until the middle of the day in some midland and western areas

AA Roadwatch are also warning motorists to be vigilant ahead of the dangerous driving conditions

The AA are also warning of heavy fog in Co. Cork.

The weather warning is in place until 11am this morning.

Met Eireann are predicting a dry, sunny day for most areas which will become cloudy later in the afternoon, with temperatures of 13 – 16 degrees.
