Roads closed after man killed in serious collision in Dublin

A man has died following a two-car collision in Dublin this morning, gardai have said.

The collision occurred on a slip Road off the dual carriageway where Blanchardstown Road north meets Blanchardstown Road south. According to gardai the collision happened at approximately 12.35am. 

A 33-year-old male was seriously injured when the car he was driving collided with a second car on Blanchardstown Road south.

He was taken by ambulance to nearby Connolly Hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

The occupant(s) of the second car failed to remain at the scene, gardai said. 

Gardai forensic investigators are currently at the scene and the road has been closed. Diversions are in place. 

AA Roadwatch and gardai are reporting closures in the area due to the "serious" collision. 

The closures will be in place until at least 8am.
