Gardai are investigating a fatal road collision which occurred early this morning.

Officers in Donegal are investigating the single-vehicle collision which occurred at Clonkillymore, Termon.
 
At approximately 6.30am, a vehicle travelling on the N56 between Kilmacrennan and Termon when it collided with an electricity pole. 
 
Emergency services were called to the scene of the accident. 
 
However, the driver of the car, believed to be a 25-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene.
 
A passenger in the car, a man in his 20s, was taken to Letterkenny General Hospital but his injuries are not life-threatening.

Elsewhere, a motorcyclist was killed in a collision at Lehinch, Hollymount, County Mayo yesterday afternoon. 
 
The 55-year-old man suffered fatal injuries when the motorcycle he was riding collided with a van on the R331 between Claremorris and Hollymount. 
 
Emergency services were called but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
