Man in critical condition after falling from rocks while fishing
A man is in a critical condition after he had to be rescued from the sea on Waterford.
The man was fishing on the rocks at Annestown, Co Waterford, this afternoon when he was swept out to sea.
The alarm was raised at 1.50pm by a companion of the man.
The Tramore Coast Guard unit, Tramore Lifeboat were tasked with his rescue. The Irish coastguard search and rescue helicopter was also dispatched.
They located the man in the water near Annestown and winched him aboard.
The man was in a critical condition and was flown to Waterford Airport where ambulance crews were waiting.
The ambulance rushed him to Waterford University Hospital where he is being treated.
