Man due in court following seizure of shotgun and ammo
A man in his 30s will appear in court tomorrow morning in connection with the discovery of a shotgun and ammo in a car in Cork on Friday.
At about 7.30pm on Friday a car was stopped at a garda checkpoint near Blarney in Cork.
The checkpoint was set up as part of the Gardai's ongoing Operation Thor campaign to combat rural crime.
During the search of the car a shotgun and ammunition were discovered and a man and woman, both in their 30s, were arrested and taken to separate garda stations in Cork.
This afternoon, the woman was released without charge.
It was also confirmed this afternoon that the man is expected to appear before Cork District Court Number 6 tomorrow morning charged in connection with this investigation.
