Man critical after Augher stab attack

Two men have been arrested after a man was stabbed in the stomach in Augher, County Tyrone.

Both of the men, aged 23 and 29, have been arrested and are currently being questioned by police on suspicion of attempted murder.

The 40-year-old victim of the attack was stabbed in his abdomen at around 11pm on Thursday night in the Castlehill Gardens area.

It is believed the victim was stabbed during an altercation.

Detective Inspector David Halloway said: "Police have arrested two men aged 23 and 29 on suspicion of attempted murder following a stabbing incident in Castlehill Gardens, Augher just after 11 pm last night.”

The PSNI have appealed for anyone with information to contact them.
