Man critical after attack at parade

A man is in a critical condition in hospital after he and his brother were attacked at an Orange parade in South Belfast.

It is understood the men were set upon as the band parade took place.

One of the brothers has suffered serious head injuries and is in a critical condition.

The other suffered facial injuries.

Detective Sergeant Kenneth Leckey of the PSNI said: "The assault occurred whilst a band parade was taking place in the area.

"I would appeal to anyone who was in this area and witnessed the assault to contact police on the non-emergency number 101 or alternatively contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
