A Coleraine man is to stand trial on charges of child cruelty and sexual assault, a judge ordered today.
At Ballymena Magistrates Court, 30-year-old Russell Morrow, from Buskin Way, was charged with seven counts of cruelty to a person under the age of 16 on dates between December 2012 and May 2013 and a further one count of sexually assaulting the same alleged injured party.
Morrow was returned for arraignment to Antrim Crown Court, on his own bail of £500, following a preliminary enquiry at Ballymena Magistrates Court.
Certifying the case as suitable for the provision of senior defence counsel, District Judge Des Perry said: "I'm quite satisfied it is a case that merits two counsel."
