Man caught with extreme octopus porn avoids jail

A man caught with 1,000 illegal images and videos on his laptop, including one of a woman and an octopus, has been handed a suspended sentence.

Carlisle Crown Court heard how Andrew Burgess also had a video of a woman and a dog as well as 200 images that were ranked in the most serious category.

Indecent images of children were also found by police, the court heard.

The 57-year-old supermarket shelf stacker admitted to six offences, including three charges of making indecent images of children.

Burgess told the court he was 'deeply sorry' for his actions and the judge handed down an eight-month suspended sentence.

He must also enter a rehab programme and sign on the sex offenders register for five years.
