Man arrested in connection with armed robbery

Gardai have arrested a 24-year-old man in connection with an armed robbery in Kildalkey, Co Meath.

On the 20th of August 2015 at 5:45pm two men entered a shop armed with a hand gun and an iron bar.

They threatened staff and stole an amount of cash from the premises.

It’s understood they were driven from the scene in a waiting car.

No shots were fired and none of the staff were physically injured during the incident.

In a follow up operation carried out in Navan shortly after midnight, a man was arrested by officers from the Meath Division and Regional Support Unit.

He is currently detained under section 30 of the Offences against the State Act, 1939 at Trim Garda Station. A car was seized by Gardaí during the arrest operation.
