Man arrested after firearm discharge incident

A man in his 40s has been arrested in connection with an incident where a firearm was discharged at a house in the Archdeaconery area of Kells, County Meath.

The incident occurred on Saturday afternoon.

No one was injured in the incident. 

The man is due to appear before Trim District Court tomorrow morning, Tuesday 11th August 2015 at 11am.

The man was arrested on Sunday 9th August 2015 and was detained at Kells Garda Station under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act, 1939 as amended. He remains in Garda custody.

In a follow up search Gardaí recovered a firearm in the Carrick Street area of Kells.
