Male prisoner escapes from Irish jail

A prisoner fled from an Irish jail where he was being held, in the early hours of Friday morning.

Fredrick Lee, aged 51 years, escaped from Shelton Abbey Prison, Arklow, Co Wicklow, between 6.30am and 7.30am on Friday March 4, 2016.

He is described as being 5'9'' in height, with brown hair and brown eyes.

Gardai are seeking the public's help in tracing the absconded prisoner.

The authorities are appealing to anyone with information about Lee's whereabouts to contact Arklow garda station on 042 26320, Wicklow garda station on 0404 60140 or any garda station.
