Major fire at Mayo agricultural factory

Emergency services from Mayo and Galway are dealing with a massive fire at an agricultural plant in Co Mayo this evening.

Three ambulances and fire units from Ballinrobe, Castlebar and Galway are at the scene of the fire at McHale Engineering in Ballinrobe.

The small town is said to be severely affected by smoke.

There have been reports of explosions at the scene.

The Ballinrobe to Castlebar road is closed as a result and diversions are in place.

Gardai have confirmed there are no injuries.

McHale Engineering is a major employer in south Mayo, with some 270 staff.
