Luas services have been disrupted after a collision involving a pedestrian earlier this afternoon.

Delays up to an hour are expected on the Red Line following the incident. 

The pedestrian, it is understood, did not suffer life threatening injuries. 

Luas services between Smithfield and The Point stop at the 3Arena are expected to be affected for the coming evening. 

A spokesperson said the tram line has fully reopened after services from Saggart and Tallaght terminated at Smithfield. 

People travelling to the venue have been warned about possible delays. 

The pedestrian was taken to hospital following the incident. 

It is understood he was involved in a collision at approximately  4.50pm this afternoon between the Abbey and Busaras tram stops. 

A Luas spokesperson said tickets will be vaild on Dublin Bus.
