Irish man dies in river accident in Slovenia
It has been confirmed that an Irish man died after a river accident in Slovenia.
There are reports that the man, who is a third-level college student at Colaiste Dhulaigh in Coolock in north Dublin, may have been canoeing at the time.
The tragedy happened on the Soca River.
Authorities contacted the man’s family yesterday with the news, and the Department of Foreign Affairs this evening confirmed his nationality and are providing consular assistance to his grieving family.
His identity has not yet been released.
