Irish Coast Guard member 'unresponsive' following rescue operation
A female member of the Irish Coast Guard is unresponsive after being thrown into the sea during a search-and-rescue operation.
Two other members of the Coast Guard also fell into the water.
One member was recovered but their injuries are not yet known.
Another is trapped in a cave area, where rescue teams are currently unable to reach.
The incident happened off the coast of Kilkee, Co. Clare, when their rigid inflatable boat (RIB) overturned.
Helicopter crews from Shannon and Waterford have joined the operation.
