Images of Pat Hickey being arrested in dressing gown emerge amid ticketing scandal
The President of the Olympic Council of Ireland, Pat Hickey was arrested early this morning by Brazilian police investigating the illegal sale of Olympic tickets.
The 71-year-old, who is also President of the European Olympic Committee, was detained in his hotel room in the Barra district of the city
According to police sources quoted in the Brazilian media, Hickey had to be admitted to hospital after suffering unspecified health problems.
The International Olympic Committee are holding a press conference at noon local time.
The OCI itself have yet to make a full statement:

Their current press issue on the incident reads as follows:
"The OCI is aware of the media stories regarding Pat Hickey and we are seeking total clarity on the situation before we comment further."
