Over €300k worth of illegal cigs labelled as "cleaning products" seized at Dublin Port

Revenue officers seized contraband cigarettes in the capital today, contained in a Dublin Port shipment described as "cleaning products".

Revenue officers seized 600,000 'L & M' cigarettes at Dublin Port today.

The black market cigs have a retail value of almost €304,000, which represents a potential loss to the Exchequer of €261,000.

The cigarettes originated in Poland, and were described as "cleaning products" when they were shipped into Dublin Port via Rotterdam.
