IKEA to open second store in Dublin

Swedish furniture giant Ikea is to open a second store in Dublin following the success of their Ballymun premises.

The new 15,000sq ft shop will be located in Carrickmines and will be Ikea’s first Order and Collection Point in Ireland.

The new store will be a scaled-down version of the mammoth Ballymun premises which boasts a crèche, restaurant and parking for 1,850 cars.

The new shop will be in The Park in Carrickmines, which is already home to Smyths Toys, DIY chain Woodie’s, Curry’s/PC World, Halfords, Next, 53 Degrees North and Hickeys/Home Focus.

The Park is located at Junction 15 on the M50 motorway.

Customers in the new premises will be able to engage with staff about products, touch and test many items and collect orders made online.

The store will have a café and a limited range of products that customers can purchase in store.
