Tipperary hurling star Lar Corbett has promised to hunt down the burglar who broke into his pub -and has offered a €5,000 bounty.

He took to social media, posting a series of furious messages in a bid to track down the thief.

“When I get the f***ing p***k that broke into my pub last night and took the week’s takings I will be taking the law into my own hands this time,” he warned.

Corbett runs a pub in Thurles and a break-in at the premises this week sent the 2010 Hurler of the Year into a fury.

He told his 91,000 followers on Twitter: “I need help from the public, I will have proper footage that I will put up here, the reward is €5,000 in cash.

“By Monday I will have the car and reg that dropped him, and I will have proper footage of him.

“This is happening all over the country, but I am going to stop this one,” wrote Corbett.

He warned the culprit: “I will not stop till I get u.”

The Premier ace also posted 20 seconds of CCTV of a man approaching the door of the pub.

Gardai have confirmed that they are investigating.

A Garda spokesperson said: “An amount of cash was taken from an office during the course of the burglary. No arrests have been made and investigations are ongoing.”
