Huge quantity of drugs seized in Dublin city centre as several arrests made

Drugs with an estimated street value of €120,000 were seized in the south city area of Dublin today.

Gardai have seized drugs with an estimated street value of up to €120,000 as part of an intelligence-led operation tackling the sale and supply of controlled drugs in the south city area of Dublin.

Gardai conducted a planned stop of a car on Camden Street this morning. During the search of the car, cocaine with an estimated street value of up to €20,000 (pending analysis) was seized and two males, aged 35 and 49 years, were arrested. 

The males are currently detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996 at Donnybrook and Kevin Street garda stations.

In a follow-up operation, a house was searched in Ranelagh and cannabis herb with an estimated street value of up to €100,000 (pending analysis) was seized.

A 27-year-old female was arrested at the scene and is currently detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996 at Irishtown garda station.

Gardai from the Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau, the South Central Crime Task Force attached to Kevin Street Garda Station, and the Donnybrook Drugs Unit were involved in the operation.
