Gardai targeting organised crime gangs in Dublin have seized a vast quantity of drugs as well as guns in an operation on Dublin's northside.

According to gardai, officers from the Garda National Drugs & Organised Crime Bureau supported by the Special Crime Task Force searched a property in the Ballyfermot Parade area of Dublin 10 yesterday.

Also found during the operation were two firearms (a sawn off shotgun and a semi automatic pistol) plus stun guns.

Other items seized include a vacuum packing machine, a cash-counting machine and drug paraphernalia.

According to gardai, officers then conducted searches in the south inner city and three men - aged 46, 44 and 39 - were arrested.
