Huge crowd turns out to pay respects to couple gunned down in Tunisia
The remains of Larry and Martina Hayes were brought from the funeral home at the Strand in Athlone to the Church of Saints Peter and Paul this evening.
A crown of over 2,000 people turned out to pay their final respects to the coupe who were tragically killed in the Tunisia terror attack which claimed 38 lives.
A group of around 30 of Mr Hayes' Bus Eireann colleagues marched in front of the cortege.
Members of the Order of Malta, of which the couple's daughter was a member, also accompanied the remains.
The funeral will take place at 11am tomorrow, before burial in Coosan Cemetery.
The couple were on holiday in Sousse when they were shot by the gunman.
