Here is what Americans think of our politicians based on their photo
The good people at Paddy Power showed 2,000 Americans pictures of our General Election candidates and asked them what they thought. The results are more than a little surprising.
Considering Donald Trump is possibly going to be the next President of America, we wonder if Americans are the best judges of politicians but they certainly offer a fresh perspective on our election hopefuls.
Giving them just the candidate's election picture, the bookie asked them a whole host of questions about the candidates, kicking off with that most vital of issues, who is the most trustworthy?
Top of that list was Fine Gael’s Dublin Bay North candidate Stephanie Regan, with Fianna Fáil’s John Lahart second and Sinn Féin’s Anne Marie Roche third.
The only party leader to make the top 20 was Sinn Fein's Gerry Adams, who is ranked 18th.
Using their answers the most trustworthy party was deemed to be Sinn Fein, ahead of the Workers' Party and the Social Democrats while the constituency with the most trustworthy looking folks to American eyes was Dublin Bay South.
