BREAKING: Guns including AK-47 and €3million worth of drugs seized in Tallaght raid

Gardai have put a sizeable dent in the nation’s criminal underworld by taking military grade weapons and millions of euros worth of A-class drugs off the street.

The Garda Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau in connection with Gardai from the Tallaght Drugs Unit intercepted a vehicle yesterday evening at the Greenhills Road in Tallaght, Dublin 24.

Inside the vehicle officers discovered heroin and cocaine worth an estimated €3,000,000.

Also discovered were an AK47 assault rifle, two .22 rifles and a loaded pump action shotgun, along with ammunition, silencers and telescope sights.

Two men, aged 41 and 34 were arrested and are currently being held at Tallaght Garda Station under Section 2 of The Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.
