Gardaí have seized large quantities of heroin and cocaine which they believe may have involved west Dublin based organised criminal groups.

The drugs were recovered when Gardaí from Ronanstown Drugs Unit supported by the Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau carried out a search at a house in Clondalkin last night.

During the search Gardaí discovered 3 Kg of Heroin and 1 Kg of Cocaine with a combined estimated street value of €500,000.

Other material including what is believed to be mixing agent (analysis pending) was also seized during the operation.
A 24-year-old male was arrested at the scene and is currently detained at Ronanstown Garda Station under the provisions of Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.

This is just the latest in a number of large recent seizures by Gardai.

On Sunday, over €2m of cannabis was seized by Gardai in Dublin 13 while almost €1m of cocaine was seized in Tallaght last week.
