Gardai seek help to identify man's body found in town

Gardaí have identified a man whose body was discovered at Cox’s Lane in Carlow town last Tuesday evening after a public appeal.

Last night gardai issued an appeal.

On the 25th of July Gardaí attended at the scene of a sudden death at Cox’s Lane in the town at around 9.05pm.

An unknown male was found in an unresponsive state and was subsequently pronounced dead at the scene.

The deceased is thought to be aged in his late 20s or early 30s. He is described as approximately 5’9” -5’10” in height with short black neatly cut hair and of dark complexion.

He was wearing a red, white and black t-shirt with the wording ‘MCKENZIE’ printed across the chest, grey tracksuit bottoms and black trainers.

He was also in possession of a dark ‘PUMA’ hooded top. A keychain with a number of keys were found in his possession.

Gardai believe the man may be from eastern Europe originally.

Investigating Gardaí are appealing to anyone who can assist them in identifying the deceased to contact them.
