Gardai are renewing their appeal for information about the unidentified body of a woman which was found on the rock near the Bull Wall in Clontarf, Dublin 3.

The woman is believed to have been in her 60s or 70s, of slight build with grey hair.

Her body was found by a walker on the 30th of June and remains unidentified.

The woman was wearing a red coloured, lightweight jumper with a floral pattern; a white vest/t-shirt; black corduroy trousers and black shoes which had a heel and square toe.

She also had a green, navy and red coloured leather money holder around her neck, which was empty.

There was a green quilted jacket and blue polka dot umbrella found nearby to where the woman was located, which gardaí are assuming belonged to her.

There is no indication as to how she ended up at the bottom of the wall.

A Garda spokesman said that there is no leads yet as to who the woman is.

“It’s a strange case. We don’t often have cases like this where we have trouble tracing someone - particularly a woman in her 60s,” said the spokesman.

“All missing persons have been checked, so that’s why we’re asking the public again in the hope that somebody might recognise some of their property,” they said.

Anyone with information that might help identify to woman are asked to contact gardaí at Clontarf Garda Station on 01 6664800, The Garda Confidential Line, 1800 666111, or any Garda Station.
