Gardai release dramatic details on tonight's Dublin shooting

Gardai have released dramatic details of tonight's shooting incident in Dublin.

They revealed that a man was approached by another man with a gun at around 5.25 this evening outside an address at Drumalee Park off the North Circular Road in Dublin.

According to the gardai the intended target of the shooting then fled through into his back garden and then into his house as a number of shots were aimed at him.

Miraculously he was uninjured and the man with the firearm fled the scene in a red car been driven by another man.

A car on fire was recovered a short time later at Regal Park, just off Blackhorse Avenue.

Both scenes are currently preserved for a forensic examination.

Gardai confirmed that a 32-year-old man was arrested and is being detained at Store St Garda station under the provisions of Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act 1939 as amended.
