Gardai investigating organised crime swoop on 10 homes in Dublin

This morning gardai have begun a series of raids on houses and apartments in the south inner city as they continue to investigate the activities of organised crime gangs.

The searches, which began at 7am, are currently ongoing at ten private residences in the Kevin Street and Pearse Street areas in Dublin involving 80 Gardaí. 

The searches are being conducted as part of an on-going investigation into an organised crime group which is involved in the distribution, sale and supply of controlled drugs in Dublin city centre and adjoining suburbs.

The searches commenced at 7am this morning and are still ongoing.

The Detective Units at Kevin Street and Kilmainham have been assisted in the operation by personnel from the following Garda Units:

1. Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau
2. Special Detective Unit
3 Criminal Assets Bureau
4. Detectives from Pearse Street and Donnybrook 
5. National Support Services- Dog Unit
6. Divisional Scenes of Crimes Unit
7. South Central Divisional Task Force

On Wednesday a large number of armed gardai and CAB officials raided a number of premises linked to the Kinahan mob.
