Gardai investigate link between gun seizure and Dublin shooting
Gardai are investigating possible links between a gun seizure made this week and a shooting incident in the Crumlin area last month.
A 24-year-old man remains in custody in Sundrive Garda Station after his arrest in Crumlin on Tuesday night.
Gardai believe they foiled a serious gun attack as it has been reported in the Herald that the handgun seized was loaded and that 12 bullets were found.
Investigators now believe that this incident is more likely to be linked to a non-fatal shooting incident in Crumlin last month rather than the ongoing Hutch-Kinahan feud.
While that area is home to senior members of the Kinahan cartel, it is now more likely this seizure was part of a local feud that has also turned violent in recent months.
The Herald also report that the young man arrested on Tuesday is not known for his involvement in serious organised crime, but he has had a number of brushes with the law for theft and drug offences.
