Gardai investigate road crash that killed a pedestrian overnight

Gardai are investigating a fatal road traffic collision which occurred in Castleblaney in the early hours of this morning.

The collision between a lorry and a pedestrian occurred at approximately 2am at Drumquill, on the Castleblaney to Annyalla Rd.(Old N2).

The male pedestrian, aged 24, was fatally injured and pronounced dead at the scene.

His body remains at the scene while the lorry driver was uninjured in the collision.

The road is currently closed to facilitate a Forensic Collision examination and diversions are in place.
