Gardai are searching for an armed men after a raid at a post office in Waterville, Co Kerry this morning

A garda spokesman said up to three males were involved in the attack but latest reports suggest that two of the men have been captured by gardai while one remains at large.

Superintendent Flor Murphy told Radio Kerry that Killarney gardaí are on the lookout for those linked to the raid.

Gardai have confirmed the raid took place at around 11am and the men fled in small blue car.

They are believed to have abandoned their escape car  – a navy Mazda 6 with a 03 D registration – in Beaufort.

They may also be armed and may be on foot in the Kilgobnet area near Kissane’s shop.

Nobody was injured during the incident.

But gardaí are advising members of the public in the Beaufort, Kilgobnet area to exercise extreme caution.
