Gardaí were forced to taser a man after he attempted to run them over in a supermarket car park earlier today.

Armed officers had been called to the scene at SuperValu on Newcastle Road in Lucan, West Dublin shortly after 2pm.

It is alleged that the man, who is in his 30s, was involved in an assault and made threats to hurt a woman and children.
