Gardai aware of clip showing cyclist being knocked off bike into ditch
Gardai have said they are investigating footage in which a cyclist is seen being pushed off their bike by a man leaning out of a passing car.
The clip emerged on Facebook in recent days and have been viewed over 725,000 times.
In the seven-second clip, a man leaning out of a car window is seen laughing as he pushes a cyclist off his bike and into a ditch. It was uploaded with the captions, 'This is the new challenge boys' by a man who has since denied he was the man featured in the clip.
It has since been removed from Facebook.
It is unknown whether the cyclist received any injuries or even what part of Ireland it was filmed but Gardai said they are investigating.
They have taken to Twitter to ask people not to repost the video on their social media as an investigation has been launched.

A recent study shows the number of cyclists on our roads is increasing, as are the number of incidents.
The number of cyclists injured on Irish roads reached a 10-year high in 2012, when 630 cyclists were injured. Some 53pc (335) of these injuries occurred in Dublin alone.
