Gardai arrest two men in connection with murder of Martin Kivlehan
Gardaí investigating the murder of Martin Kivlehan on August 3 in Sligo have this morning arrested two men in connection with this investigation.
They were both arrested in Sligo town and are currently detained at Sligo Garda Station under Section 30 – Offences Against the State Act 1939.
Mr Kivlehan, a former carpenter who lived alone on Holborn Street in the town, was described as “the nicest fellow you could meet”, “a wonderful musician” and “a gentleman” by members of the community in the aftermath of his death.
Investigating Gardaí are continuing to appeal for witnesses who may have been in the vicinity of Holborn Street between 10p.m. on Sunday August 2 and 1p.m. on Bank Holiday Monday, August 3 to contact the incident room at Sligo Garda Station 071 - 9157000, the Garda Confidential Line 1800
