Gardai arrest 42 people in widespread Operation Thor sweep
Gardai have made dozens of arrests after a three-day Operation Thor sweep in the Carlow/Kilkenny region.
Gardai have confirmed that the operation, conducted between June 6 and today, June 8, were with regard to the Misuse of Drugs Act
In total 19 premises were searched and gardai seized drugs with a total street value of €14,500.
Drugs seized included Cannabis, Heroin and Cocaine (subject to analysis)
A quantity of cash, totalling €1,200, was also seized.
Gardai say that 42 people were arrested during the operation, 23 for crime offences and 19 on warrants.
According to gardai these offences include breaches of theft, burglary, forgery, firearms offences and the Misuse of Drugs Act.
So far 15 people have been charged and will appear before sittings of Carlow District Court in the coming days.
