Gardai appeal for help to find those responsible for violent robbery of a pensioner

Gardai investigating an aggravated burglary which occurred at Ballynultagh, Shillelagh, Co Wicklow earlier this week are appealing to the public for help.

The incident occurred at approximately 9.10pm on March 16 when three men entered a house at Ballynultagh.

The owner of the house, a man in his late 80s, was on his own in the house at the time.

He was assaulted a number of times by the men with what is believed to be an iron bar.

The culprits threatened the elderly man and demanded cash. A sum of cash and jewellery was taken in the burglary.

The three raiders were described as being of average height, two of slim build and one of stocky build and all in their 20s to 30s and all had their faces covered for the entire incident.

The injured party is currently in hospital where is condition is described as stable.
