Gardai release details of car involved in fatal hit-and-run

Gardai are appealing for witnesses to the hit-and-run incident which has resulted in the death of a two-year-old girl.

Investigating Gardai in Cabra have renewed their appeal for witnesses to the 'horrific' incident which occurred yesterday evening. 

A two-year-old girl was rushed to hospital after being involved in a collision with a vehicle that failed to remain at the scene. 

Gardai say they are "particularly interested" in speaking to anybody who may have seen a green Toyota car with registration 02-D. 

They are appealing to anybody who possibly saw the vehicle travelling erratically near the Visitor's Centre or in the general Phoenix Park area yesterday afternoon prior to the collision. 

Gardai have arrested a 24-year-old Dublin man in connection with the incident. He is being held under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act at Cabra Garda Station.
