Gardaí in Bruff, Co. Limerick are investigating a serious road traffic collision which occurred at Ballycampion, Bruff at 5p.m. on Saturday.

The two car collision involved two lone drivers,

The male driver of one car, believed to be in his early 30s was seriously injured in the crash and removed to Limerick University Hospital.

He has since been transferred to Cork University Hospital.

The female driver of the other car, believed to be in her late 30s, was also removed to Limerick University Hospital but her injuries are non life threatening. 

Gardaí in Bruff are appealing for witnesses to the collision or anyone who may have been on the road around the time of the collision or anyone who may have any information is asked to contact them on 061 382940, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda station. 

It is the second serious car accident in Limerick in the last 24 hours.

A woman in her 30s was killed after the car she was driving crashed near Rathkeale at around 11.30pm last night.

A man and two children who were in the car were taken to University Hospital Limerick with non life threatening injuries.
