Gardai are appealing for witnesses to a fatal road collision which occurred earlier today.

Officers in Bagenalstown are investigating the fatal road traffic collision, which happened near Paulstown in Kilkenny. 
 
The sole occupant of the car - a man in his 60s - was fatally injured when his car collided with a unoccupied parked car at around 4pm. 
 
Emergency services were called to the crash site.
 
However, the man was pronounced dead at the scene and his body removed to Waterford Hospital. 
 
The stretch of road was closed to facilitate an examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators but has since reopened, a Gardai spokesperson said.
