Gardai appeal after pedestrian is struck and killed in Dublin

Gardai in Dublin are investigating after a male pedestrian was struck and killed on the Finglas Road last night.

A male pedestrian, aged in his mid 40s, was fatally injured when he was struck by a van at approximately 11.15pm.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

His body was taken to Dublin City Morgue, Marino where a post mortem is to be arranged.
The inbound carriageway of the Finglas Road, close to the Tolka Valley Road junction, was closed for a period of time to facilitate Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.

It has since reopened.
