Gardai appeal after man killed in fatal road collision

Gardai are appealing to the public for witnesses to a fatal collision which occurred early this morning.

Officers in Bray are investigating the single fatal road traffic collision which occurred at Kilmullen Lane, Newtownmountkennedy, this morning 7.50a.m.

Gardai were alerted just before 8pm by ambulance control that a car had collided with a ditch and that a male aged 58 was seriously injured.

There was no one else in the car at the time of the collision. Emergency services were called and the man was treated at scene.

However, he died and was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident by a local doctor.

His body was removed to the morgue at Loughlinstown Hospital. A post mortem will be carried out tomorrow morning.
