Gangland killer convicted of having mobile phone in jail
GANGLAND killer Nathan Killeen is the latest caged criminal to get convicted of having a mobile phone behind bars.
However, the Limerick thug won’t get any extra time because he is serving life for his part in the murder of innocent businessman Roy Collins in 2009.
He appeared recently at Portlaoise District Court where he got three months, to run concurrently.
He didn’t co-operate with staff who had detected the phone, which it turned out had no SIM card inserted at the time.
Killeen was punished by the prison authorities, serving 40 days in isolation in the Midands Prison.
