Four males arrested by armed gardai working with PSNI

Four males aged in their late teens to mid 30s were arrested yesterday shortly after 3pm at Balregan, Dundalk, Co Louth.

The men were taken into custody by members of the armed Regional Support Unit and taken to Dundalk Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.

A caravan, which is believed to have been stolen in Newry, County Armagh was recovered and a jeep was seized by officers, during the operation which was carried out in cooperation with the PSNI.

Three of the men were charged in connection with this investigation.

A 21-year-old man is due to appear before Dundalk District Court this morning at 10.30am. Two of the men were released on bail and are due to appear before Dundalk District Court on a later date.

The male in his late teens was released without charge.
