Dublin Fire Brigade is battling a serious blaze in the city centre this afternoon - causing major traffic delays.

The emergency services were called to the scene on Capel Street in Dublin’s’ north inner city.

Dublin Fire Brigade confirmed that four engines and a turntable ladder were called to assist with the blaze.

It is understood the fire broke out at a sushi bar called ‘Musashi’.

It is not known if there are any injuries as a result of the blaze.

The fire has caused major traffic disruption in the city, as bargain hunters try to snatch the last of the Black Friday sales.

Gardaí have closed Capel Street and are diverting traffic away from the scene.

Those travelling on the Luas are facing significant delays, with cars being diverted onto the Luas red line.
